Hi Jaba, not sure of the style of hook you are using, ie.long shank, suicide etc, but you could try recurve or "mutsu" hooks in the size you are using or a slightly smaller size. These are similar to longline hooks, and they are designed to turn when the bait is hit. Since I have been using these, all my fish have been caught in the mouth, by just lifting the rod rather than striking, works on both land base and boat fishing.
