Used to fish but am starting from scratch and know nothing about sea fishing.

if you've not fished from the shore or boat before dont go out and blow your money on what potentially could be crap tackle until a) you're sure you enjoy it; b)can put up with not catching much (unless you live on hayling in which case you're in the fishing hotspot of the country and will catch 6lb bass every night ), c) prepared to get cold, wet and miserable; d) are clinically insane.
If you meet all criteria then go out and blow your cash- personally- and no offence- many very experienced anglers (including Eccles god bless 'im) has spent time giving advice on rods and reels etc and no matter what anybody says- no matter what advice the most experienced people on this site give- people go their own sweet way.
So that's why my advice is to borrow some gear first |
