Total crap mate - always use fresh, can't be beat. Have used frozen squid/mackeral with some success but fresh bait always catches more. (Unless you are lure fishing which is an entirely different game.)

Let's be honest here; would you try and eat something that tastes of embalming fluid? big grin big grin

Fish may be a bit thick but Lazy Lug is a bit too much even for them to swallow! big grin big grin big grin

Thats very true. They also give one of its advantages as being that crabs won't eat it. Maybe that should have given me a clue. Oh well, you live and learn. Thanks guys.

Yep got to agree with everyone else, i fished shoulder to shoulder back in the summer with this guy looking for wrasse. He used lazy rag i used fresh rag - result aching arm for me boredom for him - and lets be honest when wrasse are feeding they will take anything.

cheers

I was wondering whether I should start a new thread for this but its kind of on the same lines. I was in a tackle shop the other day and the owner was showing me a pot of stuff that looks like blood thats used as a scent trail by pike fishermen. I realise I'm probably talking like all new comers to the sport but I was wondering whether it would work in the sea. I know I'm going to be asked what its called and if anyone is intersted then I'll find out for you but if anyone out there knows what this stuff is, maybe they can advise.

Thanks
