Is there any advantage to using a spinning rod when bass fishing as oposed to sticking with your beachcaster? I asume you can use plugs etc' with a beachcaster?
cheers to all you fisher folk!

the lighter gear you use the more fun it is.

if you fish with plugs then really you should use a light bass/ spinning rod, or even a carp rod. if you're leger fishing with not much tide then the 'bass' rods are the way to go. but if you need to hold a bigger lead then a standard beach caster is in order.

in general get a nice rod that you will use most of the time and if you want to use plugs sometimes then buy a cheap spinning/ carp rod.
