Fished the flood tide with high tide at 9 'clock. Had several wrasse during the daylight but had this lovely ray just after high tide
bait was ragworm and squid and a pulley pennel rig cast about 80 yards, couldnt get it any further due to some rude people in yachts
tried using live prawn but did not work! which is a surprise
was using a Cono-flex Nemesis slr and lethal weapon steel paired with Daiwa SHV 20 reels with 20lb line
had another bite later on but couldnt get it off the bottom
still was a beautiful night to be fishing

If you walk round to the first beach at barn pool and fish in the middle. if you fish anywhere else you will lose lots of gear, trust me!
i love fishing there as it is very easy, all you have to do is wait for fish! |

Thanks for the info, am i right to assume you park in the car park in the front and then walk around to the beach.
I never ever thought of fishing here due to it getting busy with sight seers etc etc.
cheers

I thought as it was deep water i might get a cod or two out of there but it turned out to be a great ray mark. as for the sightseers start swinging 5 oz of lead and they soon back away! |

i thought the tide would push on there, i use to fih opposite around devils point etc but sometimes the tide was ferocious. I spoke to me dad yesterday and amazingly he got some large launce on float fished rag over mountbatten pier - very unusual.
I am looking forward to a plymouth session one weekend this month but at the moment not sure which one. My dad and i plan to fish the last weekend of the torbay fishing festival but at the mo not sure.
cheers

There really isnt a lot of tide there but you are on the edge of a nasty tide rip, if i were to fish the torbay festival i would go to natural arch for a good wrasse |
