Hi
Has anyone fished off the barage before. i fished it yesterday but didnt seem to have much. using rag and squid, any good arears on the barrage or good baits to use

Try near the sluice gates, this seems to be the best area apparently, the bass are hanging around here waiting for the fry to come out of the freshwater, but you need to get there early as these pegs are taken in the morning..
As for bait they seem to be taking prawn..

Yes fished the barrage a few times, blanked most of the time although I did catch a few small whiting in the spring. Fishing towards the sluice
gates is O.K. as the Bass do hang around there. Although you can't go to close as there is a fish pass there. Saw a few idiots fishing directly into the pass but the authorities have now stopped this. Don't rate it as an all year round venue but it has it's moments. Don't forget to pay and display if you use the car park. |
