On a very general theme, as a returner to sea fishing after many years, where do people consider to be the best marks in England, Scotland and Wales? I guess by 'Best' I mean most productive all year around. I used to live in Lowestoft and that I thought was pretty good - althiugh saddly i had very little time to fish then.
happy fishing,

Hello matey,
I fish all around the country. I live in Woking, Surrey and travel all over, im off to Morecambe and Blackpool this weekend. Not because that there are reports of good catches but because i love what i do.
A venue is what you make it mate, you can go to a venue which has had reports of tons of fish coming out but when you get there it can be as dead as a door nail. Just enjoy the experience and try to learn something about that venue for your next visit.

My favorite marks have to be:
Newbiggin by the sea
Lynemouth
Seaham
River wear and tyne
Chesil Beach
Dover (just the general area)
Bristol Channel
Whitehaven
I have fished all of these marks with the exception of lynemouth however its a very fishy place. My biggest cod weighing only 7lb9oz's came from seaham and have had masses of codling to 5lb from the channel, took so many in one night we had to start puttin them back, actually thats probs the best night ive ever spent freezing lmao, all this at just the age of 15
Whenever we go to blackpool it looks quite nice but i feel youd onyl really get flatties there as its pretty featureless, still wouldnt mind giving it a go though |

the Private Beach is mixed ground,if you fish from the beach, there is a skeer at each end of the beach which at low water puts you right out and there you are fishing heavy ground, best times 2 hrs before after low water from the skeers, any time off the beach.Favoured baits, lug, squid wraps,or lug, mussell and Squid wraps, best rigs,1 or 2 hook pulley, best hook size 4.0.
if fishing the skeer to the north be carefull if you are on the outer edge of the skeer as from about 1 1/2 hrs of the tide coming in you can get cut off.BE CAREFUL |
