Had a 3 hr session off the Beach at Pett Level Sat 7th am and had 11 Plaice, mostly small but i had 4 decent ones of around 1.5lbs amongst them, also had a large Eel around 2.5 lbs. The previous morning i had 3 schoolie Bass upto 1.5lbs and 1 small plaice as i only fished for an hr because the swell made it difficult to pump lug so i ran outta bait!!!!
Oh yeah and i only ever use one Rod, unlike some of you "cavemen" who take 2 or 3!!!!!!!!!!!Rob.

'Cavemen' Rob? I'm not sure what you mean. I use a carefully planned approach to my angling based on a balance of probability scale-the less chance of catching fish I have, the more rods I use. Last time I went out, I had eight rods set up!!!!!!!

Nice report by the way. I keep toying with the idea of coming south for a session and Petts Cliff is mentioned in one of the books. It's at the bottom of the levels isn't it?

Hi Dunc,
Pett Level Beach joins a beach called "Cliff end". Basicaly Pett Level is the beach opposite the "Levels" i.e. the flat surrounding land and "Cliff end" is the beach opposite the cliffs. Both have been fishing well lately because the trawlers/gill netters havent been around much because of the crap weather. Another benefit of the lack of netting is that there isnt much weed about. You should give it a try but i suggest you get there at low tide as parts of the beach are snaggy and you can choose a snag free part to fish the flood.Good luck Rob.

Hi Dunc,
if you let me know when you are thinking of going i will PM you directions to the best spot on the whole beach, and may even join you! Rob.
