Just keep the brakes up to maximum until you get used to the speed. I now have my brakes off but have to put them on to 3 or 3 if using daylights or a flapper as the wind resistance is different. No doubt you'll get used to it quick enough |

i just use rocket fuel is cheap enuf and it does the job :wink: |

try 10w40 engine oil as that works pretty well, but if youare just starting to use a multiplier, the thicker the oil the better to get the reel slowed down to stop fluffing up or birds nesting.
You don't want to birds nest the reel on your first cast, so get the brakes on full, lots of thick oil and don't overfill the spool. Fill it to about 5-7mm from the top.
