Anyone have any experience of using the bass rods made by Greys? Thinking of investing in either the Greys BZE 11ft 9 2-3oz or the Greys BZE 12ft 6 3-5oz.

And on the reel front, does anyone have any experience/recommendations re. the Penn Surfmaster 850 reel compared against the Shimano Biomaster 8000 XTA (baitrunner spool)? Is the Shimano built for heavy use in salt water?

Cheers.

I've got 2 850s and on reflection, I would have been better off with the 750s with the smaller reel sizes.

Anyway, the Penns tend to scratch easily if your not careful, but to be honest, I really like the Shimanos I've never tried those particular ones but if the Stradic reels are anything to go by, go for the Shimanos.

Where are you in the country because if your near to Haverhill, your welcome to borrow my 850s if you want.
