Hello
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the "Long Rod" (The new breed of 15 plus foot rods which seem to be springing up from all the main tackle companies). I fish on regular basis and cast with a sort
of modified pendulum (195 yrds on grass) so I am not a great caster and find on the beach especialy with cold wet hands that my distane is no better than the overhead thump bregade. Would a long rod with a slow
pendulum cast help?... ( I use a 6500 mag elites and Abu 12.5 foot beach
rods (older type but were about £150 each around 4 years ago)
Thanks Duncan

Hello, there seems to be a great deal of speculation whether the longer rods (ARE) giving further distance or not. I dont use one myself or have not tryed one yet either. If you yourself are interested ide try one out befor i bought it. Ive heard it dosnt help if you are to short either.
Having a extra three or maybe four foot on a rod thats already 12ft long may not be as comfortable to use or as easy to control as you may think.

Try one out befor you buy,, it may give a little more grunt but fithteen foot is alot of rod to handel
