Yet another remarkable days Bass fishing in the Thames.
The boat was picking us up at the pier at 8am, so packed with over 100 crabs me and my pal headed up the pier a few hours early as the weather was so nice, we had 4 Bass the biggest being this one about 2lb.

So we left the pier and headed towards the towers, with me keeping a watchful eye out to see if I could spot any birds working the wrecks, and it was long before we spotted the bird diving into the water, so a quick change from a crab rig to our feathers we steamed over to see what the fuss was all about.

So cutting the engines out a few 100 yards uptide of the birds we commenced to drift back into them, and it wasnt long before we all were filling everyone of our feather up with bass most of them small but with the odd 3 or 4lb fish landed, after about an hour of hetic fishing it was time to head for the towers.
We fished the last of the Ebb at the Red and Shivering towers but for some reason there wasn't many fish to be had, so we headed down to the Knock John Tower, where we managed a few fish to 5lb.

After fishing the 1st hour of the flood, we decided to move back to the towers to see if the fish had returned, and it ended up being 3 hours of continious fish the biggest being this one which my mate caught using a livebait.

All in all, what an excellent days fishing, and I cant wait to my next trip as the Bass season hasn't really started yet.[/url]

Sounds fan-bass-tic .... sorry
Is this a charter boat you use mate as I'd love to tag along if it is one day. The idea of a 4-5lb bass is making my eyes water 8O |

half and half, but if you go with a torch where I showed you to collect crab during dark hours, they are so much easier to collect now. |
