I have bought all my bass rods in the past from Jims in Cornwall. Never found anywhere cheaper really. I found that the Shakespeare rods like concrete says are really good. The rods you are looking at are discounted to £43.99 I think. Here is the link. http://www.jims.org.uk/fishing/sea-specialist.htm

Got a Shakespeare Salt MPV 10ft cost £50 from anglingdirect which has an excellent online store. The rod is as hard as rock and I find it difficult casting with it but it could be my technique. It's in two bits so just about gets in the car. I'm new to fishing as well so I haven't really got a clue whether or not it's a bass rod :?

thanks for all your replies much appreciated ,i bought the salt bass in the end very nice looking well made rod, it was just what i was looking for nice and light but with enough strength to handle a few mackeral and who knows a 20lb bass!!! I also got a abu cardinal c176 spining reel to go with it and with the two together it makes a nicely balanced set up. I paid £45.00 and £35.00 respectively, from local shops. thanks again nors.
