If you like fishing for whiting- Walton Pier and all along north Essex is ok but very patchy for codling |

I think you will find southend is near dead at the moment. I was fishing opposite clacton peir to day on a boat and had a right result. I kept 6 sizeable coddling, we had about a dozen or so between us plus all the whiting. Try Clacton or if you can have ago at Deal. The codling that were caught was on lug worm & squid. There was evidence that the cod were also feeding on sprat (no surprise there) and hemit crab. |
