Hi All, i arrived at the car park around 2.00pm (only car), had a quick look at the water, lovely colour but still huge swells and the wave runners at a low-ish water were still coming right up the base of a very steep shingle shelf.
Set up 100yrds to the left of the pipe behind the first clay rising (nice windbreak), fished two rods, one set up with pulley pennel rig with BIG baits (whole squid or Squid n sprat cocktail) and the other using a two hook flapper rig baited with Lug or lug/squid.
First cast with the flapper rod into One of Mat's favorites? a fat S**G then nearly every cast Yting, Yting, and more Yting! All Yting were of a good size.
Big Baits produced even more Yting on which i couldn't believe how these Yting could even get a pair of 5/0's plus a whole squid into there mouths but they did???
All fish returned safe and well!
Both set ups using 170g Gemini's to hold bottom.
Fish were continuous from the off at 3.00pm - HT 6.40pm? - 9.30 Finish, red weed was present but gave me no real issues! the big wave runners didn't ease up all evening/night but i did manage the descent to cast and the SAS climb back up!
Sadly NO COD! WHY?
Other fisherman approximately 8 other also braved the elements with reports of only Yting being caught ???
Supposedly An Orange Moon Eclipse last Night but nothing Happened?
Another session is in need over the Crimbo period |
