Heads up,
Fished over at thorney bay today with a mate, we fished the late flood from 1ish pm, right through til 9pm. High tide was at 3pm.
The 2 hours we fished up to high water(3pm) where active and productive, with a tally of 12" to 14" codling plus a sizeable 2lb fish at 17.5" inches.(all through blazing sunshine)
The ebb seemed slower for the fishing, bringing a hand full of small codling and odd pout. The tide on the ebb was very strong and ridden with salad.
At about 5pm we moved down onto the rocks to follow the tide down, we fished right down and into the drop. We landed a couple more small codling on the last knockings of the ebb, but it wasn't what you would call prolific.
Unfortunately, we could not afford the time to stay and fish the early flood, but I would like to have done so, I believe it may hold some promise!
Would you believe it? All those nights with cloud cover, rough sea, onshore winds and the sizeable turns up!, flat calm, broad daylight, blazing sunshine????????
Just thought I'd mention it,
OCB.. |

Shame you never managed to fish the 1st of the flood, as you probably missed the best time. |

Rocket,
I know your right! Today I have been kicking myself for not staying with it! We had plenty of bait to stay on and fish, but I think we were just getting a little thirsty.
My mate has posted some pics in his diary if anyone is interested, go to www.fishyrob.co.uk see diary entry 8th march.

Thursdays meet with fishyrob seems to have re-lit his fire for fishing in essex, he is currently driving up from the south coast with a bucket of prime peeler crab to fish todays tide, with blazing sunshine and a poor tide you would of thought I could of talked him out of it, NO CHANCE, I want those crab and I'll sell my granny to get them!
Could be an interesting afternoon, I'll post the results a little later?
