I've seen the reports for previous comps and, although I'm very much a novice, I was interested in giving it a go.

I've been trying, without success, to find the details for this comp, apart from the next dates.

How much does it cost to enter? Do I have to be a member of a club? Will I get laughed at for having a pink beach shelter?

All help appreciated cool

Hello Jess,

The cost of fishing both days is £35 if you pay in advance or £25 for one day.
You can buy tickets by sending an S.A.E. to Paul Roggeman, East Yorkshire Events, County Hall, Beverley, HU17 9BA.
You need to send an A5 envelope and 46p in postage stamps.
The beaches get packed with people very early and lots stay on the beaches all night to make sure they get their spot, I can't tell you which spot will fish best yet as it will all change by March.
Make sure that you can get good bait before you leave out because you will struggle to find any if you leave it until you get there.
The tickets will come with info for accommodation if you need it.
Good luck.
You don't need to be a club member as this is an open event.
I don't know if anyone will laugh at the beach shelter, some of the ladies mat ask where you got it.

Thanks for the info Bucko, especially regarding bait. I'll definitely give it a go.

I was only joking about the shelter but my wife does quilting and embroidery so perhaps she could come up with a fetching little number for me. cool
