Could anyone recommend sites in Kent for sea fishing, I live in Maidstone so closer the better. Also as children may be present and fishing would prefer sea wall or something that they are comfortable on and also being very picky here somewhere that’s easy to get to from a car when parked.

Thanks

Only nutters live in Maidstone and fish at the coast! So that's two of us then. No great expert when it comes to fishing but you can park alongside the sea wall between Sandgate and Hythe and fish on the beach the other side. Keep an I open for Mackeral reports in the summer ( if Dave the Dolphin hasn't gobbled them all up!). There is parking at Samphire Hoe along at Dover, you have to pay and buy a day ticket, but they promise some good sport ( and lost tackle) and you just chuck out from the sea wall. Caught my personal best Bass from the shingle between Sheerness and Minster on the Isle of Sheppey. You drive up and park on the shingle bank behind the beach and fish below your car. If you are there at low tide the children can catch crabs, mussels and oysters.
Good luck.

Ps. Don't know how old your children are, but you could always consider dropping them off at McArthur Glen at Ashford with your credit card and spending a cheap days fishing by yourself!...Hmmm maybe not my best idea.

thanks for that, samphire hoe looks a good option with the two essentials for the family tea and toilet.

Dungerness

There is an excellent cafe/resturant called The Pilot, they serve fantastic food , all indoor or outdoor, very clean and value for money.

I you don't believe me then ask 70 or so bikers that do a yearly rideout there

The fishing can be good, esp up the beach nearer the outlets from the Nuke Power Station

If you go to the Pilot ask for the large cod and chips and see what turns up, it's big enough to feed a family

Andy,
I have a similar children/fishing conundrum. Would be interested how you get on at Samphire.

PS I agree about "The Pilot". Best fish that I never caught!
