best to Fish an ebb tide off the right hand side but as youre fishing daytime you'll be fishing the flood tide so you'll need to be casting off the left hand side toward the Naze - go right to the end if you can- should be reasonably quiet on a monday- usual bait - lug rag and squid - you'll be fishing for whiting and codling and maybe a sole towards the top of the tide.

Flapping rigs with a size 1 hook will do you fine- best not to have any hooks below the lead as it can be snaggy with lost tackle. The ground can also be a bit sticky if you hit a patch of clay but steady gentle pressure should see your lead break out.

good luck- let us know how you get on if you go
