Barge Pier is fishing OK for Mackerel. Not massive numbers but I generally get between a couple and half a dozen. Sabikis work well, but thin mackerel strips on long traces up the line work better when bites are scarce. Also picked up a shad and a gar the other day. Not seen much sign of bass apart from the odd schoolie. If you’re fishing worms, drop them straight down or just under the pier (carefully). Don’t waste your time going to the end and blasting to the horizon as this inevitably leads to lost gear and no fish....
Let us know how you get on! |
