Before you think about specialist sports kit insurance for your fishing gear, same way folk do for golk ... golk?.... golf stuff, dsorry about that, double-check your household contents policy.
Had a phone call to mine (Lloyds Bank) the other day, turns out I'm covered for up to a grand's worth of my tackle on a like-for-like basis whilst I am away from home, even abroad, so long as I have exercised due care (locked car or hotel room, accidental damage by someone else etc). They get a quote for your shopping list from a dealer, so you'll need to negotiate with the insurer if your kit has been superceded by bigger/stronger/faster.
This would, according to the phone call, cover accidental damage sby me uch as falling over and damaging a rod beyond repair, etc. MK |

It's a computer thingy so you can talk to people on this site. You can download it using the link provided by MRIX on the General Sea Fishing forum. |
