I noticed just recently how much the old trends are coming back into favour.
A typical example are the combination rods, a rod with 3 tips, a butt and a center piece. These rods can be had for about £30 and if married up to a secondhand Abu 7,000 reel or an Okuma 30 (new) it means that the newbie can do pier, boat and beach fishing for less than £100 also the experienced angler can have 1 rod in the car as a permanent fixture and can do all three types of fishing at a whim.
Not for the tackle tarts but a good starting point for others.
Anyone else use these rods and if so your opinion appreciated
Cheers

hi keith never used on of the sea fishing rods but if they are as good as some of the freshwater ones they should be ok i think
. but as you say proberly not for the tackle tarts that have to have a rod or two for every ocation . must confess i do tend to bye diferent rods and reels for each type of fishing ,so maybe im a tackle tart .or maybe as the wife says im obsesed with fishing

Thr one in question that I have been looking at is a six piece rod. I am seriously considering buying one just to leave in the car.
