hi guys well as promised here is my post I arrived at Walton pier at 9 o'clock
on Tuesday night when I arrived there was hardly any water ht was at 2am it was blowing quite hard but the rain managed to stay away, I decided to set up by the club hut, and was fishing in about 30 minutes as the tide was on vacation, my first cast produced a dogfish it was only small and I proceeded to produce small dogfish, pin whiting, and 1st season codling the biggest fish on the day was a codling weighing in at a massive 1lb, all in all myself and the chap I was fishing next to caught codling, whiting, flounder, dogfish and an baby eel none of our catch was takeable and were returned.
from the pier head there were better fish to be had a Roka of just under 4lb, a cod at 3lb9oz dogfish, whiting, and flounder but only a few were taken home by their captors and only a few days before there were Roka all over the place from the pier right down to Frinton wall, over all my session was to say the least poor but I caught fish which was why I was there, and so ended my second trip of the year maybe next time all the best James |

hi Tim, yes there are one or two thornie's about not as many as last week but nonetheless well worth catching, there were about 8 anglers up there Tuesday / Wednesday but most left even before ht because of work commitments and they were all up the top but I was on the stem still caught though, if I can get there when you are up there maybe we can get together and have a banter tight lines m8 James |
