Arrived 4:30pm at high water, never seen the pier so quiet, only half a dozen anglers. Fished until 8:30pm, loads of bites but only small-medium Whiting resulted (10 of them) plus 1 skinny dogfish between 4 rods.
Clacton side outfished Harwich side almost 3:1. (in other words, my Mrs outfished me 8-3!
All fish taken on lug tipped with squid strip. No fish landed on whole squid, but a few clonking bites missed.
Couldn't believe how cold it was after the beautiful weather all week !
A couple of other anglers reported similar results, nothing for the freezer ! |

Hi Ian,
thanks for the report, 3 of us are heading up the pier on Tuesday so will post
a report on Wednesday, at least you never blanked mate,
