hiya,
we decided to try fishing west bay tonight on chesilnext to the pier, the weather was fair with some rain but no wind and a slight swell but all in all a very good night weather wise for the time of year.
3 of us where fishing all using flapper rigs and mackerel as bait and had plenty o9f good bites but no fish caught!
we fished from 1830 until 2100 with a high tide around 1910ish and it was a very high tide

I saw 3 people heading past the shops on the way to the pier just after 6, must have been you ; we had just finished a match and were weighing-in by the tackle shop just across the road. Not much was caught on the beach, a flounder or two, a dogfish and a few small pout..... it's that time of year ! |

I didn't fish the beach, I dibbled around the rocks at the end of the pier to catch some different species, light gear, size 4 hooks and ragworm. I had flounder, pollack, corkwing and ballan wrasse, a shanny, pout, a poor cod and dozens of rockling (5bd)......... and hundreds of crabs. 4 rockling only to weigh in. |
