Hi all,
I fished at Selsey Bill last Friday (26/12/2004), I fished on the White sands caravan park stretch and high tide was at 23:30.
I fished two rods both with different baits and distances, one rod i used black lug and squid cocktail which didn't fish too well at all. And the other rod i used rag and squid cocktail which seemed to do the trick so i quickly changed the black lug for rag.
The fish were plentyful but only two species came out, whiting and pouting with the pouting being the domoneering, nothing else had chance to get to the baits.
In the end there were so many bites and fish that i almost ran out of bait, and the two fella's next to me caught just as much but got bored in the end and packed up.

you could try fishing the east beach. i have fished there a couple of years ago, fished south of the lifeboat slip below the sea wall. on one occasion i had 8 codling in one session and they came out at all distances.

that was a case of right place at the right time. don't think i will have a night like that again.
