Welcome aboard GDS, the more the merrier. The date set at the moment is 27th march, and more than likely, spurn point, unless someone knows a better venue. The reason for spurn is, it has two sides, so if the seas rough we can fish the river side. |

Hi, due to a little confusion about tide times we have finally decided the date. It will definitely be on the 27th of march, HW around 12.00 the venue is spurn point, royboy will monitor the fishing to determine the best mark at the time. I am going to see about a prize etc for the match, and get posters made up soon. If anyone has any fundraising ideas, or any help they can offer it would be much appreciated, Im not too well known at the tackle shops on the N/east coast, so if anyone is, and they dont mind approaching them for a prize etc, feel free, that would be great. the charity number, and online donation page are in the lounge. Cheers..Mick
PS, my 4th and last cycle of chemo starts on the 21st of january, then a topup on the 28th, after that its the countdown, which means im not sure how well i will be feeling, if the worst should happen, and anyone would be willing to take over the match, let me know. it would be nice to know it will go ahead no matter what. |

Thanks roy, i knew i could rely on you, and you flattie. I'm not one to panic, but ive noticed a distinctive deterioration in my health over the last few months. Ive been offered a wheelchair, but prefer to carry on as long as possible. I would just like to thank everyone again for all the support, and no matter what happens, you will all be informed, ive shown my kids what to do on the forum, and given phone numbers etc. so you will always know how things are. Cheers..Mick
PS, i know there are quite a few new members, and a lot who cant make the matches, but if anyone would like to doanate online, even a small amount, the page is in the lounge. Thanks to everyone in advance. Mick |

Hi Mick,
Long time, no contact.
You may not remember me, I fished one of the Holyhead meets, back in 2009 I think?
I've not done much fishing lately so I've not posted. I've been brought up that if you've nothing to say... say nothing! But I have been reading, especially your situation.
Although I live in deepest darkest Shropshire I'm going to try my best & make the match. May even bring my lad? If I can make it & anyone needs a lift on the way up they can contact me.
I'll need a bit of advice with rigs & bait, but if I possibly can, I'll be there.
I'll see you there.
Cheers
Rob |
