Early morning wind was howling, rain belting down... thought "oh no"

Boat run by Stuart and his dad, called Predator.

Got to Essex Marina about 7am. Rain had stopped but wind still bllistering through. Due to wind stayed in Crouch, but had an good day's fishing on an excellent boat. Everyone caught something, no blankers. I had about 10 fish, mostly codling of about 10oz. Some whiting. And a nice 1.5-1.75lb codling. 6 out of 8 of us took home a sizeable codling. Biggest around 2.5-3lb. Skipper did us 4 bacon rolls during day, and loads of cups of tea. Recommend definately.

Weather held out for us, bearly a spit of rain all day, and the sun came out all aafternoon for a glorious bit of weather.

Cant fault it.

Least you managed to catch something, especially when the weather was so bad.

Nice report Ginger- I have to admit I've never really fancied boat fishing much but after reasing your report I might give it a go.

Did you settle on a rod/reel combination or did the skipper provide the tackle?

Yeah, settled on an Abu Ambassador 7000i reel, with an Abu Esprit (I think!) rod.

If you are up for it, we'll sort out a trip on this boat again. He really is a cracking boat/skipper
