I've done kayaking before but new to the fishing element. |

hi 40Yak, welcome to forum! i have never fished from a kayak but have spoke to people who have before, all they use are light spinning rods with either small multipliers or small fixed spool reels. a favourite i have seen for kayakers is spinning for bass as you can get to locations where boats are not able to reach.
hope this helps you
thanks

Online you will always pick up a bargin, but dont forget tackle shops at this time of year want your bussiness too. Even more so after christmas as there trade seems to drop off. |

visiting your local tackle shop would be better in my opinion and try to get to use it regularly so you become a familiar face in there. as when you maybe want some bait or anything when there is a shortage they are always going to be more willing to sell to regular customers then new ones.
thanks

I'm champing at the bit so will aim to get to the local tackle shop as soon as the snow goes.
Love the joke, not heard it before. Theres a good reason why we have that stretch of water between us and the mainland
Now just need to work out what a spinning rod is; oh well we all have to start somewhere.
Will post my first pics of the big catch once it arrives..... no one hold breath though |
