Hello all,
You know i have spent the last couple of days scanning the internet , trying to find out what was being caught in the southeast. Then i stumbled across this site. Very nice by the way 8) Anyway i went fishing off grain on sunday and caught 12 codling. Only trouble is thay were all only about 8" long Natually they all went back to fight another day. I have been three times to the same venue over the same amount of weeks and find it strange there are no larger fish :? You would think if small ones were about , a larger one would be lurking. Anyway they were caught on lug with a squid tip. Seems that not much is coming out anywhere. Most strange. :? :? |

I dont know why people find it strange that there isn't too much around especially larger fish, Jan and Feb are probably the worst 2 months in the sea anglers calander with all the spratts in the water. |

Yeah That did cross my mind rocket, but because i only live 20 minutes from this venue i have fished it for years on and off. You normally come away with a couple of codling to 5 1b and there are usually loads of whiting but this winter not one has been caught. It's out of character for that venue bud. Then again the weather's gone tits up . 12 degrees one day , 2 degrees the next. |

With so many school bass still around, i think maybe there eating everything, and there's just not enough food for anything else.Even the Herring and Spratts have been a bit thin the last few years, but then if i was a herring or a spratt i'd be steering clear of the bass also. |
