I think i know where that is, its maybe Called TREFIN...anyway
Tackle shops:
Cardigan Angling, realy good lcal shop in the middle of town opposite the covered Market. It is on a hill, park in car park behind market.
Haverfordwest: County Sports - good for the basics, kit etc however some local knowledge is limited there,
Milford Haven: Anglers Corner - without a doubt the best place around, everything u need & dont need here + loads of quality advice.
Its a rocky area TREFIN, some beaches but generally classic Wrasse & Pollack country, mackeral generally, ideal for lure / rockhopping with plugs etc....
You will have immediate access to St David Head, Whitesands, Newgale, Strumble Head...so there is loads of scope here. Bait collection, depends what you are after. Mackeral are plentiful, Worm in selected places although it often better simply to buy them....in any of the shops previously mentioned. |

You can dig for blow lug locally in Solva harbour, although the locals can get funny about people doing so!
Rag can be dug in quantity at Jubilee Beach, Dale if you feel like it. This beach supplies the majority of tackle shops locally anyway. Its not uncommon for people from Cardigan to venture there to grab a load of bait.
If fresh razor is your thing, Saundersfoot beach towards Monkstone point is abouyt the best place, must be on a zero low tide, the lower the better, There are some big mussel things in the sand the chinks love to eat, which used fresh are pretty good for bigger bass - dont bother freezing them!
Not too familiar with northern beaches, you may wish to ask in anyone of the tackle shops.
You can dig at Gwbert by cardigan, great for crab there too, also a known shore spot for bass on either poppit sands or cardigan side. Poppit a popular tourist baking spot so fishing limited to after dark realy. |
