Yesterday I was using some but they were really bad and exposed the hook when they got wet, I seen some people using feathers with holographic things on and stuff so could someone recommend which ones to get for tomorrow at south shields.

Doesn't matter about the hooks mate - fish are too thick to know about hooks. Personally I believe in glitter, cos that's what small bait fish look like in the water so my "feathers" are the ones with glitter tape on.

Yeah thanks for the reply, the reason I say this is because my mates were reeling in 15 coalies each, my other mate a shad and mackrel and I got not even a bite in the day, they were using multicoloured feathers and the ones I didnt buy so Im guessing I was really unlucky or my feathers wernt very good, I think I might get the same feathers as them tomorrow. I just want to try get more fish than them tomorrow so I can get them back happy

Try and find or make a rig that will have enough feathers evenly spaced out so that you have feathers from bottom to top of water, that way mackerel cruising by will probably see one/some of them. Small hooks with small holographic tinsel do a good job of imitating bait fish.

Make your own with tinsel, crisp packets etc, anything thats shiney/ reflective, failing that i prefer shrimp lures rather than feathers and daylights and the such

Depends whether it's from beach or boat !

If beach ensure that they are tied on a minimum 50lb line (a lot of the smallers feather rigs are tied on 30lb) - daylights are generally the best.
