Quick stupid question...
I have a trout rod im using at the moment, which is fine although not that powerful and fine for fish up to 1/2 lb in weight.
However, im sure there is something better, maybe with a faster taper and a bit more muscle in the mid section...so anyone have any ideas!? |

Hi Jim, there are plenty of Rods about that meet your criteria, and as a rule the more you spend the higher the Modulus of the Carbon, and the faster the taper, the more 'muscle' you can have. However most Rods in the 7/8 weight bracket should be fine for our 'average' british Bass.
Most good Manufacturers give a description of their Rod's action such as 'Mid to tip', or 'Tip' action which will give you an indication of how 'powerful' the Rod is likely to be.
Hope thats useful
