arrived at my first mark this morning about 6.30 only to be greeted by bassfly/mulletfly to say the bass wasnt playing ball.moved to another mark with same result.all moved again to a sandbank mark.had half a dozen bass on the gurgler ,brilliant sport watching them slam into the surface fly.shoals of bass everywhere mixed in with a few golden grey mullet, which mulletfly hooked into only to have the fly thrown after a few minutes.bassfly had his fair share of the bass before i retreated for home leaving the other two to carry on.
great morning in a great surrounding.

Was good mate. Learnt a new trick today, using individual Terns as a guide to individual Bass positions. Amazing fishing. Impressed with your use of the Gurgler too. Never seen Bass riding the waves like that today. Reckon trhe Golden Greys must have been copying the Bass to go for the Clouser like that. Who needs the Carribean? |

Sounds like you had a good morning chaps well done!
By the time I managed to get out this afternoon the wind was well up and being a real pain. Found some Mullet in a sheltered creek and started chumming them up with a view to catching them on bread flies, only for a prat walking his dogs to let them jump right into the middle of the fish making them back right off the spot, idiot.
Getting right into fishing for the Mullet now thanks to Colin, hopefully won't be too long before we get the hang of it... |
