whats the best knot used for tieing hooks/swivels/clips ect when makeing rigs

looks like the blood knot I always used this for course fishing but wasnt sure if it was ok for sea fishing! |

As a newbie I first of all found the Palomar the easiest, but it's not possible if you're say connecting mainline or leader to a whole rig as you have to pull the rig through.
Once you start doing the blood knot it becomes second nature as you'll know from your coarse fishing. |

Grinner or UNI Knot works for almost anything really and these are the knots that I have used for years and cant remember one time when they let me down :wink:

Its the four-turn Grinner for me. It is so easy to tie, even with cold numb fingers, and is very reliable. A feature of the Grinner I particularly like is that the tag-end lies flat against the snood when used for hooks. This allows wormbaits etc to slide easily over, unlike the bloodknot where the tag-end sticks out at a right-angle and can rip worms apart as you thread it on the hook.
