Hi all got a new reel recently and I have done a few casts with it and it was ok but now when I cast once I've flipped the switch back to stop it from letting line out the handle spins backwards and the barrel spins with letting the line out I hope it's easy to overcome as it is a nice reel. |

Its a problem with the anti-reverse pawl. Its a very old reel now and I can't track down a parts diagram on the net but rabbi on here owns at least one of these I think so he may have a diagram he can copy for you or a photo of the innards to point out the offending part. I've repaired a few over the years but not for a long time now and parts are thin on the ground if it needs a new pawl .... but I can put you in touch with someone who might be able to help you. |
