Hi
I have been fly fishing since last July mainly off of Hayling and the surrounding area. I have since moved to the Chatham area and am looking for some guidance on where to start. I have had a recky around my area but most of it seems to be soft mud which is unwadable. I have also just bought a spinning rod which a load of lures and spinners to help me get out a bit more against the northerly winds.
As usual, I am aware no one wants to give up locations for fish due to them being alot more precious these days. But would anyone be willing to take me out one time or PM me some areas to look at. I am willing to travel to fish and also any information sent to me will stay with me and go no further. I could also do with a few tips on lure fishing and maybe fly fishing in such murky waters.
Cheers in advance

Seasalter is meant to be good for spinning during the summer months as it is shallow and therefore warm so the bass love it.
I've just got myself a little spinning rod and will give it a go to see if the above advice is any good! |

Hi
If you are now in Chatham Kent, so nearest venue the Medway I would consider fly fishing for mullet. I've seen people doing it, and there are big mullet in the medway.
The medway can hold some good bass, I've had four 5lbers in last few years. I don't use spinners, but thats not to say you can't. The Medway can fish very well and as all fishing it's luck, local knowledge and mostly just giving it a go.
Outside the council building, I know as the old Llloyds, in Chatham is a good spot for mullet. Bass, try anywhere you can get near the water.
Bit of trial and error but dont be put off by the mud, the Medway can be good
If I can be of any help as I live on the Medway just ask and I'll do my best!

Hi
Cheers for the replies. I have spotted Mullet in the Medway and unfortunately there were too far out to get. But am keeping my eye on them
As fo the spinning I managed to get my first 2 bass thisweekend near Herne Bay. They weren't huge but they were fun, also got my casting up by about 30-40 meters more than I had previously.
Cheers
