Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. Hopefully looking to learn a few things or two!!! happy

I am thinking of buying a bait pump, but just need to understand where is the nearest place to be able tot use it. I live in ramsgate but am willing to travel to use it. Any Suggestions??

They only really work in soft sand and mud near the water's edge at low tide. You would be better off buying a strong stainless fork in my opinion with nice long tines.

Try Sandwich Bay on the big spring tide L/W and target the yellow tails … only a few miles away from Ramsgate.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I have seen a few people digging it pegwell. I will have to take a drive down and have a look. Also sandwich is another option.

Info most appreciated.

Hi welcome to forum. look forward to your reports. I'm lazy and prefer to dig in my local bait fridge but Lugs dug anywhere from seasalter to Herne bay is popular. closer to seasalter the better the pickings but its a little far out for you. sorry cant offer more help

Mallo & Baitman,

Thanks for the info. Baitman, I work in dartford and have heard that they call southend on sea "southend on mud" so to speak. I have heard that bait digging and pumping is good?? Also what is the fishing like in southend on sea?? Can you fish from the pier??
