is it just me or does there seem to be more and more new members signing up and just posting 1 topic which is advertising some kind of event/ shop?
btw Jim did you know theres an event @ stackpole the end of May organised by the national trust. no fishing just guided scenic trips to Caldey and Skomer and a BBQ /Camping back at Stackpole Home Farm. not sure if u can bring your own yak or if you have to use theirs. might look into it a bit more and maybe take the little 1 out for the day. she'd love that.

Hi, no i didnt know, but I suspect that more for the full touring yakkers around here. Having said that, Id find it very hard not to take a rod with me given that coast line, and the whole trek sounds like a bit of a mission!
Keep me up to date though, never know!
Yes, 1 person posting / spamming something on all the forums is aqnnoying but predictable. Not bothered if they do, when they dont answer your questions relating to it thats just rude.
There was a Kayak fishing competeition in South Pembs a few years ago, i missed it as i didnt have a yak at the time. Be good to have another one tbh. May have a chat to a few people on that subject. |

JimKayak,
There isnt a facebook group, yet,but im looking into it for the Hastings Festival, but ive posted lots of information on whitby sea anglers website, with the help of their admin, unlike Phatboy, he is quite happy to let other kayakers in different areas, know whats going on and be given the chance to get away for the weekend, meet new people and have a good time. |

I dont think Phatboy minds the info being posted, its the frequent thing that people post once and thats that! So, a reply from you is a great leap forward.
With all due respect, Im unlikely to be looking at a page for Whitby anything, bearing in mind we are 400 miles away, and I wont spend 7 hours in a car to go anywhere, thats just wasted fishing time!
Post some links for more3 info, i'll take a look, maybe even bring Phatboy along aswell, if i can drag him away from his computer! |

Hi Bigles i didnt mean to offend you its just that recently a lot of people have been signing up to various forums just to advertise their events/ shops and as it seemed that you had not answered Jim's question it appeared that your post was just another 1 of these.
i didnt mean to offend and im sorry if i came across that way.
allthough i wont be able to make it to the festival i would like to wish you the best of luck with it and i hope it all goes well.
all the best Phill
ps: Jim let me know if you fancy meeting up when the weather gets a bit better. |

Hi Phil,
No worries
My replies are sometimes delayed as I dont get a lot of time to spend on forums. I`m a boatman and I`ve just had 3 very long days on the trot of making sure others can get out on their boats and go fishing. It`s not just a case of everyone turning up and stepping into their boat here and away they go, we have to hand ball the boat off the berth then down the beach and push it into the water, no trailers involved at all, and obviously they all have to get back on the beach too... when im not doing that im fixing their poxy engines....or indeed smoking their fish for them. Oh the joys of being a boatman at a beach launched angling club. When im not doing any of that, which takes up a lot of my time , I do like to try to get out fishing myself as much as possible either on my boat or in the kayak.
I`ll try to update you as much as possible with whats hapening here with Kayak fishing etc, but again apologies if i dont get back very quickly, but will endevour to do so within a few days.
If you do ever make it down to Hastings Phil, come and find me in the boatyard, we can talk fishing and i`ll even show you how to fish for bass
lol.
Cheers
Happy fishing

Phatboy knows how to fish for Bass, however he often catches deformed fish with their tails growing too close to their heads |

where was that then jim?
i havent heard of any on this side of the water yet. lots of flatties coming in down fort Road though.
as for those deformed bass i blame the refineries, must have mutated them lol
i did have a deformed macky last year. it looked like a 1 1/2lb fish until you touched it and realised it was a tiddler with loads of loose skin. looked like it had been on a crash diet and still had some bingo wings lol |

We had 19 boats off on Sunday, in the first comp of the year, they were all plagued with pin whiting, a few nice plaice caught, with the biggest being 3lb 10 oz, but more interesting, one of our kayak lads was off and he had a couple of bass, the first inshore bass this year, but unfortunately i expect when we lose the easterlies and goes south westerly we will get the dreaded snotty gully water, which kills the fishing for a couple of weeks as it goes up the channel, but after that mackeral should appear and the bigger bass. |
