Thanks Ray, decided that it leans too far over when the tide is out, only 8" on the port side, so I though it was time to get some yacht legs so she sits square, didn't know they were £700, so thought I would make my own,.

Contacted my mate at the scrappy and got some ally scaffold, bought the nut's & bolt's etc....total cost £55..

Fitted them yesterday and I got everything right and she now sits up so well I need to use the ladder to get in and out...lol...but at least it's done...

Saw a few fishing boats out there, and wondered what they were catching, if anything, should have taken the radio, could have asked.....

Quick question please Ray, is there anywhere to refuel? And is it expensive?

Cheers
Cliff

Fuel is available at Halcon's over at Canvey- I have never been there but I am sure someone on here has used them.
I take mine aboard in cans and get it from the garage -but mine is very, very economical (and slow LOL)
I will make some enquiries for you and let you know as soon as I find out..
I spoke to the couple of boats out at the weekend and it still diabolical !
I will give it a go the weekend after next - If you are planning on a trip as well give me a shout and we can keep in touch, just in case we actually catch any fish!

I can confirm the fishing is still poor to say the least.
On the bright side I went in Green Park in London the other day and picked up a hammered farthing by eye.. Never done that before..
Found one detecting a couple of years ago and I thought that was an achievement.
Got a couple of good marks where I found a George 3rd Guinea and a young head victoria half soverign.. but this is a fishing forum. So this will seem like a foreign language LOL.

Not to me Ray, I run a Metal Detecting Forum, Club and Events.

Am I allowed to put the link? - www.rallyuk.com - Admin can remove if not allowed.

Going to the boat today to do some rewiring and if I get time put in some deck lighting.

Really got to get some fuel as well so might give Piper Diesel a go, hope they don't ask me anything....lol....otherwise I will be paying full price..ouch!

Anybody passing between 1pm & 4pm is welcome to come aboard and say hello winking or just Beep as you pass big grin

I will be about this afternoon, so will pop down and see you.. I will have a look at your detecting web site.
The beaches round Southend are quite good.. As I mentioned yesterday I found a couple of gold coins on a beach not far from where your boat is moored, plus I have lost count of the rings I have found. The best beaches were East of the Pier as the sand had eroded and because the sand isnt natural the original mud has hardened underneath like a crust so coins etc sit on top.. Everytime we got an easterly or westerly gale, hey presto, best detecting you can imagine for a few days. Sadly they shipped in thousands of tons of sand from Clacton and pumped it onto the forshore and completely ruined our fun. (I heard a few nice medieval coins came out of the imported sand but didnt find anything myself)
Fishing was improved though as this new sand put you about 30 yards further out to sea and in deeper water..

Thats great Ray, look forward to seeing you, looks like we got a few things to chat about...lol....maybe we should get some lunch and chat over a cuppa...

I'm about to leave in the next few minutes heading for Canvey to see if I can bluff my way to getting a good price for the diesel, then heading for Southend.

See you there.

Oops! Sorry kopitecol

Well I got my diesel at 70p a litre winking

Got to the boat and it was leaning right over again...when I eventually got out there i found the Yacht leg on the Port side had snapped off, then I realised that my tender had also gone?

Waited around until the police got there at 2pm, then went out to repair the damage done, so never got around to doing the wiring etc...oh well!

Looks like I will have to look into getting a couple of mini keels put on....think thats what they call them? or dig a big pool around the mooring...lolol If anybody knows anybody that can do this job please let me know..cheers!

Anyway, doesn't affect the fishing, so looking forward to hearing from Ray and the other boats when the fish return...
