Another day on a couple of south east coast marks and it was blowing a hoolie...fished with mac47 using lug/mackie/cockles/razor/squid and one rod each at the first mark.
Looked good on arrival but with the big tide we kept having to move up the rocks...mac47 lost a fish on retrieval and we were both losing a lot of leads so moved onto the next safer mark.
No luck here either not even a bite..........but then the luck gods came along.......wind caught the tripod with both rods on and blew it over.....never seen mac move so quickly lol.....both rods and tripod crashing over edge of the harbour when one reel jammed against the ladder and 2nd rod got caught by this.....managed to rescue both rods as we watched the tripod sink and macs ciggies float across the harbour....pulled rods up and started to calm down when we noticed the lines being pulled under.
When we started to lift the lines they had tangled up in the tripod so we got it back as well and it was biggest (and only) catch of the day.
Fished for about 6 hours in total before we called it a day.Better luck with fishies next time i hope but at last we didnt lose our rods (Zziplex and a conoflex) which would be expensive to replace.

That's a real a sickener - imagine watching your fag packet drifting out to sea...lol
Seriously though, it sounds like the fishing down here on the south side of the Forth is pretty poor at the moment and I can't remember the last time I had a really good session in these parts. I'm mainly a flattie basher and I've noticed a downward trend in this fishing over the last couple of seasons, so much so that if I contact half a dozen fish in a session, then it's been a good outing. Up until a couple of years ago, I would've been pretty miffed if my total catch for a session was under double figures and I can assure you it didn't happen very often. All in all, I find it a tad worrying and I've spoken to other anglers who tend to agree with me, wonder if the members on this forum feel the same?
