Hi, welcome. I personally fish at a spot called the humber bank/wall (probably has a few other names too), its basically a sea defence that you can drive on and has "bays" where you can park up and fish next to your car, its quite a good and popular spot so there is always info on here about how its fishing. Its up towards immingham way and can be a little difficult to find if your new to it. As for tackle, Shakespeare has a range of rods called tidewater which are pretty cheap and not bad rods to start off with. As for other tackle if you go into any sea fishing shop they will set you up easily, (there are a few good ones in grimsby) you could probably get cheaper tackle on the internet but i always find it invaluable to get their local knowledge and expertise. good luck with your fishin (hopefully you'll do better than ive been doin recently - you cant do much worse!! ) Jon |

Hi There, and welcome only just joined myself. Think you will find that the humber is a bit dead at the mo but there is some flattie fishing at Humberstone near the fitties if you are into that.

Thanks again guys!
I have a little more time now..................
Used to fish east halton years ago, North wall, and north end of mablethorpe (which was top class in the summer on the ebb tide).
Never fished Humberston creek but thats my first target come the warmer weather.
I'm a fair weather fisherman so won't be starting yet. My ambition is to catch a bass (of any size) off the lincolnshire coast!
Cheers! |

dont know how true it is but I have heard a few times that you can catch bass at Cleethorpes in the summer from behind the leisure centre but never fished for them myself. Trev |

If you're after bass, try the big wheel at cleethorpes on an evening summers tide (they tend to be small, but are certainly there).
