hello all, Im heading down to Okehampton for a week at the start of february, shall I take a rod with me? any hot spots that time of year?

only problem with Okehampton it's a bit land locked you would have to travel quite some distance to get to the coast in any direction,
a bit more info where you want to go would help.

Okehampton is probably the single furthest place from the sea in Devon. big grin You have Plymouth to the south, down the A386 via Tavistock, or Bideford to the North, again A386.

Probably boats out of both places. Not sure of shore fishing points, thought I had a short list of possibilities but cannot locate it. Someone may have a few. There are 2-3 at Plymouth , not sure about the Bideford area.

Either option is a 40-60 minute drive, OK if you are on holiday but if you are working and only have the evenings then not easy on time.

thanks for the reply, to be honest I hadnt really looked where okehampton was in relation to the coast, might have to takethe fly rod instead , cheers anyway
