Just reading about bay 13,18,19 etc. Question. How far do you have to cast to hit these fish. I can manage 75ish yds with an overhead thump (Not to impressive Ha) Not been long at this game and would love to catch something LOL crying

welcome to the forum packhorse. dont know much about that side of the humber but im sure that distance will be fine.

Cod do show at 75yds from these bays, but only rarely. sad
100+ yds is usually needed to have a more consistant chance. It sounds a lot more but a little practice will soon close the gap, the reason the extra distance is an advantage along this stretch is that the tide rip is much faster at distance.

hi packhorse the bays you said is were i fish m8 hot spots down ther you can catch 40 yds on woulds m8 am catching on rag tipped with squid m8 i live in grimsby so all the best m8 joey happy happy happy happy

the distance you need to cast depends on were your fishing to cast to the hoizon is not always the best cast but it comes usefull if you learn to do it i can cast well over 100yds but wat you need to do is look at the fishing spots at low water for holes gullies rough ground then you cast to these if there only 50yds out then thats all you need to cast you can cast over fish
