I was there last week and there were several fishing either side of the lock at the marina. Didn't get a chance to talk to them so don't know what they caught. |

Hope this will be of help;
Follow the brown local info signs into Hythe, Ferry, marina etc. You will come to a mini roundabout, town/ferry right and marina left. If going to marina go under the bridge then turn left and follow right to end; park there BUT PAY OR BE CLAMPED £3 for 5hrs £5 for 12. Looking seaward Boat yard on left,rock armour ahead, head past the entrance and you will see a narrow path between the rocks and a chainlink fence this path, first 50yds the worst, leads you out onto the reclaimed land. Shingle/shell beach sloping down onto mud, clean ground with a few stones/snags, can dig bait at low tide. Flounders, pouting, school bass and whiting being caught at present. Ragworm favoured bait. Distance casting not required when tide up to shingle, 20/30yds will get fish. Fairly child friendly venue.
Tackle shop; Bells which you can find by taking the right turn at the mini roundabout and following the road through the town, Bells is on the right, on a corner site, painted blue, just on the entrance to a car park.

I have only just started fishing this place myself, I reckon you can fish here if the height of water is over about 2.3m on the easytide prediction for Southampton http://easytide.ukho.gov.uk/easytide/EasyTide/ShowPrediction.aspx?PortID=0062&PredictionLength=1 |
