Hi folks. Im up visiting from Plymouth for the weekend and fancy a spot of fishing. Does anybody know where has been worth trying recently? I was thinking of Llandudno pier as i had a good day last time i fished there in September. I have heard that Mostyn is also worth a try as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated. It's been a poor year down in Plymouth and i'm looking forward to winkling a couple of fish out. Cheers, Curt.

Hello mate, just seen your post. The pier at Llandudno can be good though fishing is restricted ( pop in and see Sarah in the tackle shop at the start of the pier). The whole of Llanddno's 'North Shore' beach can be productive, at present there are the inevitable doggies, whiting, coalfish, codling, flatties, gurnard and maybe a ray or bass.
Evening tides are best really, though I did catch the other day - small whiting, codling and coalfish.
You never know what wil turn up and it's certainly the most reliable beach in this area.
As regards Mostyn, you need a very small tide, ideally no larger than 26 foot at high. I prefer to fish up two and a half hours and down the same. Hope this helps mate, don't hesitate to PM me if you need any more info.

Happy fishing. big grin
