The choice of reels will depend on the price range youe looking at but for clean ground either the Abu 6500CT or Daiwa 7HT or for a bit more money the mag versions for both.
For rough ground Abu 7500CT or Daiwa SL20SH or SL30SH or Penn international 975 but these are more expensive.

As Bucko said Abu 7,500 is a very good choice but are expensive. I use both mine for both rough and smooth ground, because the retrive is a hell of a lot faster than the smaller reels and my thumb can get a better purchase on the spool for casting.

Or take a look at a Penn 525mag, as they are a gutsy reel that can handle rough ground and can cast really well too

Over the last few months I have noticed quite a few members having problems with the 525 mag.

I know that the majority of them have been put right but its no fun waiting for a reel to be repaired that is not 6 months old,
Cheers
