I have bought and sold loads of things on ebay.
While the vast majority of people are honest, there is always the odd crook or conman who tries to rip you off.
I bought a Yamaha keyboard once that was advertised as being in excellent condition.
On reciept of it, I noticed that two of the keys were twisted and a speaker had bad scuff marks on it.
Luckily, having bought and sold quite a few keyboards on ebay, I recalled having seen a keybord for sale by another seller. Who's description matched exactly with the keyboard I had just purchased from this woman.
I contacted ebay and paypal and demanded my money back.....
After a so called investigation, they decided that is wasn't advertised correctly and that I was entitled to a refund.
I got a contact phone number and called the woman.......
She said she was selling it for a friend and that she didn't know anything about it being advertised before. ( total bull sh*t )
She offered to refund me £10.00 which obviously I refused.
She then put her husband on the phone and he was very aggresive.
However he soon changed his mind when I told him I was coming down to see him with a couple of mates and he could expect us sometime in the early hours of the morning, and did he have a car on the front drive ?
I think he got the picture..... and believe me, that is exactly what would have happened.
However it still cost me £10.00 to post the keyboard back to him, so I did end up, out of pocket.
But as I have already said, most seller are 100% honest... |

i agree fully with you there as i have bought several items and not had a fault to date
i do try to corespond with sellers quite a bit before placeing a bid on more expensive items thus saving hopefully any problems, pays to be a little sfe
sometimes i read the page on a item and think that it does not sound genuine! and stay well clear but may just be a coincidence, i try not to take chances
trouble is we cant go round not trusting each other! as said previously there are only a few bad people and loads of decent genuine people out there |

Bought a shed load of gear on ebay.Got caught only once by a guy from Mexico, item never arrived.Pay pal gave a full refund.
Things to watch out for.
1. Make sure he has a good feedback, and has over 50 deals done,as he will not want to screw up his feedback %.
2. Only use paypal as you are covered up to £500 on any deal that may go wrong.ie. goods dont arrive, arrive damaged or are not as described. You can only make 3 claims per year.
3. Read the description of what you are going to buy a few times.
4. If possible only bid with 1 minute to go in the auction, this stops other people increasing their bid over their origional offer. This has won me a lot of items very cheap.
5. Never bid regular ammounts ie.£10.00 as £10.15 will win every time.
6. Because the $$$$ IS SO WEEK AT THE MOMENT TRY www.ebay.com
for great bargains. |
