I reckon we all go through feelings of doubts about fishing- I do a fair number of matches and think about jacking it in when I dont get a pick up match after match then i get a result and it rekindles my enthusiasm - same goes with pleasure fishing- getting hacked off with it then caught a good smoothound the other week- cracking fight with it ripping up and down the beach - same effect- rekindled my enthusiasm.

We all have the same probs with fishing - finding the time and money, grief from the other half but I know my life would be more empty without it- actually the Mrs used to give me loads of grief but now she realises going fishing is a lot better then peeing itup the wall down the pub every night- made some great friends and kept me sane in an otherwise mad bad world.

up to you mate but I think you'll regret it.

Well as every body says you will regret it if you sell up (don’t do it) just take a little time out for things you need to do in life, work college ect, I did this a few years back with work kids ect, just go now and then and you see how much you miss it!! Fishing is not a competition it’s a pass time and it does not have cost the world, it should cost you less than say me because you live by the sea?? Pack your gear up look after it and when you fancy going all you will need is a bit of bait now to pier you go!! All the best with your choice, Topfish.

I didn't "have time" for nearly 20 years. What a mistake that was then some guys in the office asked me to go on a wrecking trip with them about 15 years ago: 20 lb cod, 16lb ling and 1/2 dozen big pollack landed first trip out. That was it, I was off again and haven't stopped since. Yeah sometimes I leave it for a couple of months if I something on my plate but like Keith says I will never sell my gear now. Even if you can only manage a couple of hours, you can get out there and forget the world and all it's madness - can't be beat mate.

You will defo regret it, If you wont put it in the loft i think you should ask a relative to buy it off you and put in there loft until your ready to fish again and then you could buy it back.
My son did exactly the same when he went to Uni and was skint , I bought all his fresh water gear and stored in my garage for 3 years. 3 years on he fishes every week end and cant thank me enought for giving him gear back. cool
