Best I can do from last two trips and first two to be honest.

Abbotsbury. Best until end of Jan, so I've been told until April. For now Mackerel 3 hook flappers and not more than fifty yards. It is worth wacking a whole squid out as far as you can get for a Cod. I was sure I had one on Saturday, but had previously landed a doggie on the same bait at 80 yards with a pennel two size 6/0 hooks.

You will get doggies and pout with the odd big cod.

West Bexington, 9 miles further west, easier walking, practically fish from the Carpark, same rigs but cast 75-100 yards. Experts say Plaice, Doggies, Pout and Cod again.

East Chesil, can't say never fished it.

H

PS Let me know date and if ankle and boss allows will join you.

last time i fished chesil beach was about this time last year. I fished the ferry bridge witch i think is the east end in witch u mentioned. but all i was gettin was doggie after doggie, by the reports i'v been reading it seems west bexi is the main place for that cod. Ps. Edgy i.v just signed your petition

Lets have a look at the tides. I am not an expert but used to like last hours in and first three hours out from high tide. Beats me having to hobble miles down the beach as well.

Would very much like to do it in any event. Anyone else want to join us?

Edgey,
I didn't think 2 look at the tied's. its nearly been a year since i last went fishing , the last place was chesil , and i'v hurd off a few people that tides dont matter off chesil coz the water is so deep. . is that true ?? ..
All the same i'm still up 4 a session coz that elusive cod is still out there with my name on it .

Hi tide will be about 12 noon 29th and 12.40pm 30th. I can be there for 9.30ish, if the boss will let me go, either day. I buy my bait from Dennings, 114 Portland Road, Wyke Regis, can't dig, won't dig

Abbotbury is harder for walking as it is further from the carpark but is probably better if weather is OK.

Not an expert on tides, driven by being on crutches at the moment.

Don't mind. Abbotsbury is closer to me. But 9 miles makes no difference to me either way as I have a two hour drive in any event.

H

Ps Thanks for signing

Send me a PM and I will send my Telephone and e-mail etc.
